Recent Advancements on the Delivery of Low-Carbon Sustainable Transmission & Distribution Networks

Presentation by Duncan Botting

Duncan Botting is visiting Australia from the UK, where he has presented his recent keynote paper at AUPEC 2007 titled “Recent Advancements on the Delivery of Low-Carbon Sustainable Transmission & Distribution Networks”.

The drivers behind today’s electricity networks have changed dramatically over the last ten years. Electricity Networks (or Grids) have traditionally been a very stable and well understood design, build, operate and maintain environment. This presentation will chart the changes and explore some of the technological solutions being proposed to mitigate the risks that this new world order is exhibiting.
